Things are heating up quickly and lawns across the country are seeing extreme heat in many areas but there’s one thing you should pay attention to when this happens…irrigation.
I have made this same mistake before in the past and started to water too much when things got hot. For a very dry climate like the southwest or western states in general, this might be warranted, but if you live in a humid climate you need to watch your irrigation closely. Adding too much when it’s already hot and humid can aid in fungus damaging your lawn. Check your moisture levels in the soil with a soil probe or let the lawn dry out enough that you start to see a few spots of wilting of the grass and then water.
